| The original Dartmouth Police uniform sleeve patch (left) was placed on the Dartmouth Police Uniform sometime after World War Two. The exact date of incorporation is unknown. The present sleeve patch pictured above right, has graced the Dartmouth uniform since 1973 when the Department underwent a complete uniform change. The patch incorporates the Coat of Arms of "Lord Dartmouth of England", with the picture of the "Silver Buck", signifying "good fortune and prosperity". The Coat of Arms is set into a light blue background, and a banner above it with the Latin words, "UTILE DULCI" which translates as, "Service through Kindness, and Peaceful Means". |
